Why does my 454 turn over very slowly when trying to start

Customer Question

Why does my 454 turn over very slowly when trying to start hot engine?

Hello, my name is Bobby. Thank you for the question. Most of the time if the engine is hard to crank when it is hot it is because the ignition timing is off. Most of the time this is caused by a failing ignition module that is located in the distributor. When they fail they are affected by heat and this will occur. I would replace this first.
