I am sorry for the long wait

is it still setting a code 14 after you cleared the code ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the service engine soon light is still on after disconnecting the battery .
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
athough i did hear a clicking sound from the front left ? under dash ? drivers side .
Not sure if thats relevant
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

if it still has a code 14 with a brand new sensor then the issue is more than likely the electrical connector at the coolant temp sensor

which replacing the connector will correct this issue

a lot of times the terminal crimp to the wire crimp inside the connector is where the wire is broken or making bad contact

with the key ON and unplugged one wire should be a good ground and the other should show @ 5 volts at the connector

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
this model appears to have just one wire . the clicking or tick tock sound is noticable when I reconnect the battery .
Also the engine does not turn over, click or make any attempt to start .this happened earlier today and after a period of time the engine started .
any advise ?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no start problem was a forgotten alarm system , please disregard
will recheck wire before the connector .
should it light with ignition on ?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

with the ignition ON one wire terminal should show 5 volts and the other wire a good ground
