Customer Question

Chevy, Silverado, 2000, open dash, (storm deposits rain through window), interior lights remain on until engine is started, when ignition is shut off, interior lights come on, dome bypass ( in or out ) makes no difference, light switch wheel dialed up or down makes no difference, door switches seem okay. Can you troubleshoot this?

Hi my name is ***** ***** i will be happy to assist with this today.I apologize for any delay.

This may be a fault with the light control switch itself as I have seen fail before and cause issues like this here or the body control module failing. If water has entered either of these components this will damage them and will cause a fault like this here with the affected component needing replaced. The electrical signals will need tested with a multi meter or in some cases a test light to pinpoint the fault. If you have any of these tools to test with here let me know and I will see if I can help walk you through some testing.

Thanks Pete
