I am working on a 97 3.4L with a crank/no start condition.

Customer Question

I am working on a 97 monte carlo 3.4L with a crank/no start condition. It has fuel pressure at 50 psi, good compression and spark. there are a couple evap codes that have come up including p0441 and p1655. could either of these codes be indicative of the no start condition? Also I removed the intake manifold and it was internally soaked with oil so I cleaned it out and replaced the pcv valve. Any ideas?

I am sorry for the long wait

so this engine will physically crank over and not fire up ?

with the key ON in the dash is the check engine light lit up ?

will the engine somewhat run if you spray some starting fluid or carb cleaner into the throttle body butter fly ?
