I tried Replacing my fuel filter on my 1999 Chevy cavalier

Customer Question

I tried Replacing my fuel filter on my 1999 Chevy cavalier but broke the black retaining clips.. I cant figure out how to take the filter off. Am I hooped? Or do I have to replace the entire fuel line now??

Hello, my name is Bobby. Thank you for the question. Unfortunately due to the pressure in the system if you broke the black ends then they need to be replaced. Fortunately these are not terribly hard to do. Dorman Products makes replacement fuel lines that have these fittings on them. They are part number 899-085 and 800-059. These can be purchased at most auto parts stores. I hope this helps to get the vehicle fixed. Please let me know if you need more help.
