Van pulls left when braking

Customer Question

van pulls left when braking

Hello, my name is***** anything been replaced? This would usually point toward the front right brake not working correctly which could be due to worn pads, caliper that needs to be lubricated, or caliper that is not working.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
had new brakes and rotors installed
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
they wanted 900 to replace brake modulator
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
Did they test caliper? Caliper is MUCH more likely to cause the problem then the modulator.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
nope
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
I would start by doing that or even replacing the caliper. The caliper is pretty cheap, much better place to start then modulator. To verify caliper is the problem you could crack bleeder to make sure fluid is making it to caliper when pressing on brakes, if so replace. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions. Thanks.

left or right caliper
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
The right caliper. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.

my van rocks side to side on highway really bad above 50. whats with that?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
replaced shocks, rotated tires and balanced them
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
It seems to vibrate or sway when turning?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
I'm not sure what you mean by rocks side to side?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
hmm. small dip in road causes van to rock left to right like has a bad spring? I don't know how else to describe it??
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it will drive straight
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
That description works. If you replaced the struts the only other thing that would come to mind is sway bar links/bushings. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
im 52 all I drive are vans. 30000 miles per year I never expierence this before
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
Based on description it sounds like vehicle is swaying. Main things to cause swaying are sway bar problems or strut problems. You could also look at other things such as worn ball joints and steering components but I think the sway bar issue is more likely if struts have been replaced. And vehicle pulling left is usually caused by front right caliper. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.
