Chevrolet Cobalt: I have a 2005 chevy cobalt base model without

Customer Question

I have a 2005 chevy cobalt base model without ABS. My brakes start locking up when driving about 10 miles. The pedal gets extremely hard. I took it the the dealership and they replaced front and rear brakes. They also shaved the rotors and drums. Car runs fine according to them. I spent $1000 so far and no results. I can't afford to buy a new car or spend unnecessary money. What should I do?

Hello I will help you with your question,
When the brakes lock up can you loosen the two mounting bolts on the master cylinder?
See if the brakes release, if they do the pushrod from the booster needs to be adjusted three turns shorter.
Let me know what happens
Thanks
