Chevrolet Malibu: My fan has stop blowing out of the frony

Customer Question

My fan has stop blowing out of the frony vents. Still blows at my feet and defrost. What could be wrong?

This is caused by a bad mode door actuator. The actuator controls where the air flows out of the dash, when the actuator goes bad it will default to defrost and some of the air may blow at your feet. You can try to recalibrate the system by removing battery power for a few minutes and reconnecting the battery, starting the car and running the a/c. If the system still does not react properly then you will need to have the mode door actuator replaced.
