Customer Question

How do I connect a battery maintainer to my 2006 HHR?

Connect the maintainer positive to the Positive post under the Red Cap under the hood and the negative clip to one of the strut bolts at the top of the strut tower.

What is a strut tower?
Expert:  Ted G. replied 1 year ago.
On both sides of the engine compartment are round towers that the front suspension struts come up into. There are three bolt/nut assemblies there, you can connect to any of them as they are all properly grounded. Here is a pic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o2lo8grm4gyutj3/hhrstrut.JPG?dl=0
