Chevrolet Malibu LT: back floor board filling with water (puddling)

This answer was rated:

back floor board filling with water (puddling) It was raining thunderstorms that day. Did not go through high water, no window leakage. Appeared to be coming from underneath. A/C was on. What could issue be? Body shop confirm no cracks to frame (previously vehicle was involved in front end accident (6 months prior)
when the A/C is running if you lift back the passenger front carpet is it wet or do you see ANY water dripping in the car from that area?is the under of the carpet wet there?do you know if it will only get wet back there when driving?or it just sitting still?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Hmmm haven't noticed either way. It did not seem to affect front passenger floor board, only passenger side back floor board. We've really only noticed the problem when its rained...otherwise we've been in drought conditions :)

if the passengers side front floor is bone dry and just the passenger side foot well is soaked when it is sitting then either the water is getting in threw the door seal either rear of the passenger dorr area or the passenger rear door seal.does this car have a sun roof?

no sun roof

what about plug area? drain? someone mentioned there may be a plug under that back floor board?

ok if its just when sitting and it is just the passengers rear floor pan wet and the passenger front seat floor is bone dry then one of the passenger door seals are letting water in or the doors are out of adjustment.if its sitting still when water gets in it cant be a lower plug or floor issure its going to be one of the passenger doors or door seals

No it isn't happening when just sitting. It was on the road, driving, over a two day period
one thing you can do is pull the carpet up and drive it when it rains and look and see where its coming in.if it only does it when driving you are going to have to duplicate it and visually look for it with the carpet up
