I have a customer with a 2005 chevy equinox, that brought me the car because the fuel gauge went to empty, and stays there. Now the ses light is on with a code po452 present. I filled the tank up full and the gauge still seems to not be working. Is it possible the malfunctioning fuel sender caused the 452 code, and if so whats the fix? A new fuel pump???

Hello, and thank you for letting us help you with your automotive question. These two items may or may not be related. If they are related then you have a bad connection at the top of the fuel tank. It is common for the connector to become dirty and corroded for this to occur. You need to drop the fuel tank from the vehicle and check the cleanliness and the tightness of the connections. If cleaning the connections does not help then you do need a fuel level sensor which means you need a fuel pump and the fuel tank pressure sensor may be faulty also.
