I have a 1998 Chevy 2500 Express Van with a new GM Engine that is missfiring. The problem is it isn't setting any codes. i have found the mixture a little lean once but otherwize everything seems ok.

I've had the van in Case Automotive Repair Shop here in town and I had it in Hubbard Chevrolet Dealer Shop tring to find out the problem. I've used my autoxray code reader tool and I used my freind's autoxray 6000 scan tool. Both shops say they can't find out what the problem is because there are no codes being set. I've got a reading of missfires on my freinds scanner, but no code are being set eather.
The eingine is a new engine drom GM. The fuel injecters are new replacement injectors that GM put out after recalling the one's that were in the old enging, the plug wires are new, the plugs were also new when
Case Automotive installed the enging in Novermber of 2011. Only the starter and the water pump was used off of the old engine.
I don't know what to fix or replace to get rid of the missfiring. It is using more gas also. There is times that it runs pretty good, but not like it should for being a new engine with only about 2,000 miles on it.

Yes you can feel the miss. Yes it is sluggish when it is missing real bad, but it hasn't bogg down so it wont take off. Some times after it runs for a wile it runs fairly good but you still feel the missing.
sorry for the delay,,,computer went down,,the first thing you need to do here sense you dont get any codes..1-check the fuel pressure,,these must have no less than 60psi at all times,,the fuel pump may be weak[common with this vortec]even if the pump is new..2-if the fuel pressure is ok...replace the distributer cap,,it is very common to get a bad new cap for these,,,even when they look new,they can jump spark on the inside where they are wormed,,thanks
That was my next thing to do was check the fuel presser. I've replaced 3 fuel pumps on this van.
I would have gotten rid of the van before I put over $5,000.00 replaing the engine exsept that the Van is a wheel chair lift van for my wife that is in a wheelchair. I'm at the hospital with her right now and without the van there is no way to get her around.
