2001 blazer: tire..indicator lights..4wd dash swith wowere not working

Resolved Question:

2001 blazer lt 4wd v6
2 days ago i put my blazer in 4wd low to pull a stump. piece of cake, not even tire spin in sand. Noticed that indicator lights on 4wd dash swith wowere not working. Next day, "service 4wd light comes on. 3rd day, today, battery is drained and the only interior lights that come on are those on the electric 4wd dash mount lights. Something apparently is staying open and draining my battery. It is @ autozone right now getting charged. It was showing 8v and is less than two years old. For price sake, can 4wd be disconnected electronically if i have to buy a new transfer case actuator motor. tight budget right now.

i wouldnt think,,that the problem is in the 4wd,that is draining the battery power,,sense it gets no power with the ignition off,,
after the battery is charged,,have them to load test it,,just to check the battery for sure,,it could have a dead cell and need replaced......also,load test the charging system after you install the battery with the engine running, the alternator could be bad.........with a hot battery, the transfer case actuator may work,,,if not ,it will need to be replaced.....
to answer the question,,yes, you can unplug the actuator till you can afford to fix it,,just make sure you get it into 4hi first,,,,,cover the plug with tape to keep the dirt out..
again,i think your problem is in either the battery or the alternator here

Where is the disconnect? i may have found it. it was pink double female
Expert:  Tim's Auto Repair replied 5 years ago.
you could just pull the 4wd fuse..
i was talking about the plug at the transfer case actuator itself,,on the side of the transfer case
