2008 Chevy Impala ls: 3.5l..my drivers side rear door lock sticks

Customer Question

I have a 2008 Chevy Impala Ls 3.5l. My problem is that my driver's side rear door lock sticks. Sometime it opens when I put it in park and other times it won't. Same thing happens when I use the key FOB. It only happens to this door, the other's are fine. Any ideas- it's driving me crazy. Thank you.

Dr.Automotive :

Hello and welcome to Justanswer. My name is Danny I am a Automotive Mechanic here to help you with your problem.

Dr.Automotive :

This is most likely the rar side drivers door lock actuator

Dr.Automotive :

It can be just getting stuck on some plastic. You can remove the door panel and check for any obstructions in the door lock rod

Dr.Automotive :

If this is clean try it with the door panel off if it works great than It can be a restriction through the door panel hole

Dr.Automotive :

If this doesnt make a difference replace the door lock actuator
