Welcome to! My name is DriveFast71(Ron) and I will do my best to answer all of your questions completely and accurately.

The C0281 is a fairly straight forward code pointing to a fault in the Stoplamp Switch (most commonly an "open" or "short" internally). Inspect the wire harness and electrical connector for any loose or broken wires. If the visual inspection checks ok, the best place to start is by replacing the Stoplamp Switch located at the top of the brake pedal arm.
