Hello, I'm Cam. Please include all the details about your issue so I can accurately advise you. I cannot see your vehicle so please be detailed.
What happens if you open the hatch, start the engine and sit in theback, does it kick in?
Is there any warnings on the dash?
Started a month or so ago. Noticed not hearing the compressor when loaded with kids/gear etc. " Service suspension system appears on the dash" Started hearing a cyclic noise while driving, suspected differential issues, pulled cover yesterday to inspect. Fluid was in need of replacement, maybe a thumbnails amount of fines on the magnet, overall good condition of ring and pinion gear teeth. Am wondering whether or not noise is being generated from dead shocks. Similar issue with wifes Trans Am WS6 last year... New rear shocks cured the noise. Tahoe is at 176K mileage.
I did try starting with hatch open and weight in the back...
Ok, is there any chance you can get the codes from the system?
a scan tool will need to be used to get the code.
Going to have to travel up the road for that.
If you can get the code I can help you diagnose it.
Still wondering about the boot on the shocks. How do I get back to you specifically after pulling the codes?
It should have pressure when it is pumped up .
if you want you can take the line off the compressor and put air into it.
Got it. Hindsight recalls the compressor running for a long time when loaded down before this all started. Wondering if compressor burned out. I will try putting air to the shocks individually, maybe one was blown out and the compressor ran itself dead.
You can try and get back to me.
Better get to the codes and applying air to the shocks. First time online with Just Answer. Will I follow up with you or another tech?
