How new is the battery?
Even though it is pretty new it can still fail, to rule it out I would go to a parts store and get a free battery test. Also ask them to test the charging system while you are there.
If you got the battery from a parts store, go back to the same one as your battery will still be under warranty.
I have seen a lot of problems with new batteries lately so there is a fair chance that is all it is.
I read online, using google, that it can be a sign of a bad alternator or alt. belt. Is that a possibility in this vehicle?
I got the battery from Firestone; they also installed it.
Yes it could be the alternator which is why I reccomended checking the charging system. The belt will only be responsible if it is slipping a lot which is pretty unlikely.
Firestone will probably test it for you for free and may not charge for checking the charging system.
