GM Tech (Cam) :

Hello, I'm Cam. Please include all the details about your issue so I can accurately advise you. I cannot see your vehicle so please be detailed.

GM Tech (Cam) :

What happens if you manually close the door?

Customer:

The door alarm still dings the only time it stops is when the vehicle is in park.

GM Tech (Cam) :

Ok so the rear door alarm is bad or tripped. Does it close properly all the way?

Customer:

Yes when you manually close the door it appears to be closed by all visual inspection but the alarm is still going off - we just want to remove the fuse for the alarm where is the fuse?

GM Tech (Cam) :

It is not that simple, this is tied into the radio so the only way to stop the noise is remove power to the radio.

GM Tech (Cam) :

If you push on the door, does it stop?

Customer:

No

Customer:

so you are saying the fuse for the door alarms and the radio are the same?

GM Tech (Cam) :

The radio makes the system sounds.

Customer:

so what can we do - the only thing we did different yesterday was put a cd in the cd player and it didn't work so we took out the cd could this be the culprit?

GM Tech (Cam) :

Does the dash show the door is ajar?

Customer:

no the dash does not show the door is ajar

GM Tech (Cam) :

Ok, then if the door opens and closes properly and it does not show they are ajar then it could be a module, but we would need to see some data on the scan tool to find out for sire and avoid wasting money in parts.

Customer:

do the motors for the automatic doors have a seperate fuse?

GM Tech (Cam) :

yes, fuse 21 and 25 in the dash fuse block.

Customer:

is there a seperate fuse for the vehicle alarms?

GM Tech (Cam) :

no, that is integral to the Body Control Module and radio

Customer:

ok thank you -
