1997 Chevy Blazer: 4WD...trouble code..transmission problems

This answer was rated:

I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer 4WD. The trouble code is P1870, but I don't seem to have transmission problems.

kalamykid :

this code is set when the pcm detects the tranmsission is slipping in a gear. this can be caused by low fluid, or worn clutch packs.

kalamykid :

the best thing to do would be to clear the code, have the transmission fluid servise with a new filter and see if the code returns. I have seen the filter crack and suck air in and set theis code off.
