1997 Blazer, hard to start when cold (sometimes) cycle key, almost starts, wait 5 minutes starts right up.Mechanic changed MAF, CTS, Fuel Pump, swapped out the spider and the regulator still the same issue. Problem not fixed, he didn't charge me.Now I am looking into it. My son was stuck at school, a sprayed starter fluid and it didn't want to run, backfired through intake. 120k I know it needs a chain, so I did that and replaced the CKS, same issue.Tried to start it when I got hom no luck, cycle the key, almost starts but wont. Phone rings, 5 minute call, try again and it starts like a champ.

hi
tell me..how much fuel pressure does it have?
Mechanic informed me 58 lbs, I did not check it though. He tried a fuel pump
ok
58psi is a little weak......i need to know how much pressure it has while turning the starter....
these vortec engines must have no less than 60psi even while turning the starter,,it is very common to get a bad new pump for these.....i think your problem is still the fuel pump
thanks
FUEL PRESSURE
Test Description The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
Notice: Do not allow the fuel pressure to exceed 517 kPa (75 psi). Excessive pressure may damage the fuel pressure regulator.
Can you repost the pictures? I did not see that you said to do that right away and intend to tackle the problem today. Thanks
