The water pump sells for around $213 (new) or $165 (reman). The labor time guide calls for 2.2 hours to complete the job. Labor rates vary from shop to shop, so what you pay for labor will effect the botXXXXX XXXXXne. You will also need to add the cost of antifreeze and tax as well.

Wow it looks like it would take that long to pull the radiator.to be able to get to the waterpump.

The radiator does not need to be removed. There should be room with it in place.

 

Water Pump Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L Engines)

Removal Procedure

  • Drain the cooling system.
  • Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  • Remove the fan clutch.
  • Remove the accessory drive belt.
  • Reposition the inlet hose clamp at the water pump.

  • Remove the inlet hose from the water pump.
  • Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the water pump.

  • Remove the outlet hose from the water pump.
  • Reposition the heater inlet hose clamp at the water pump.

  • Remove the heater inlet hose from the water pump.

  • Remove the water pump and gaskets.

  • Discard the water pump gaskets.

I found a new water pump at NAPA for $125 But that labor est seems very low tho... I will find out tomorrow when i get into it.. Thanks for your help

Prices vary from State to State. I got a "jobber" price here of $147.43 - that's the cheapest I could get it here in my State. Estimates are just that... estimates...
