where exactly is thermostat housing? picture is not detailed enough. Is it where the lower radiator hose connects?

I only know as much about your problem as you have told me in your post, so my answers will be based on what you tell me so please add all the details you can. About your vehicle,

The thermostat is inside the housing where the lower rad hose connects to the block. THis is beside the oil filter. All of this is on the lower front of the engine, slightly closer to the engine belt. You would be best to get at this from the bottom front of the engine.
