From what you are describing, it sounds like you have a faulty Wheel Bearing on the left side. When pressure is applied to the bearing (turning left) the noise will go away due to the pressure. When there is no pressure, you'll get the noise. On this vehicle, the wheel bearing is replaced as a hub assembly.
