Customer Question

I have a '04 Malibu Maxx LS and my battery died. After replacing the battery my cd player will not work. The radio works fine, but on the display for the cd player it just reads "cd 0 track 1". I can't eject any of the 6 cd's I have in there. Is there a way (without having to take my car to a dealer) to reset the radio or anything? I did try disconnecting the battery to see if that would do it, but that did not work.

Optional Information:
Year : 2004
Make : Chevrolet
Model : Malibu Maxx LS
Engine : 3.5 liter V6

Already Tried:
Disconnecting the battery, holding the eject button for a few seconds

Hello, I will do my best to help answer your General Motors Vehicle questions.

Try rebooting your vehicle.

Disconnect both battery cables positive then negative.

Connect both cables together away from the battery for a minimum of 30 minutes.

This will drain all energy storage capacitors in the modules.

Reconnect positive then negative last, making your last connection as quick as possible to avoid voltage spikes.

Allow five minutes before you power your car to on.

Try your radio/cd player.

This corrects many issues that can arise from a battery change.
