This can happen when the dist cap and rotor needs replaced.
Remove the distributor cap and rotor and check for moisture. Replace as needed.

its not that I have checked it i am getting plenty of spark it acts like it isnt getting any fuel

Will the vehicle start when you add some external fuel to the throttle such as carb cleaner or starting fluid?

Does the fuel pump turn on? Can you hear it prime?

I have never been able to hear it in this vehicle

Gotcha, well some ideas to try Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.graphic If the engine starts, verify the wiring and replace the sensor.
Fuel pressure must be 60-66 PSI key on. If not, verify power and ground to the fuel pump and deadhead the pump (do not allow deadhead to exceed 72 PSI).
Check power from the ignition switch for an intermittent voltage drop condition. Check the graphicgraphic
