I found more instructions online that showed me where the pinhold is that I had to push. Now that I have the ignition switch out, I need to get to the BTSI solenoid.

The only place I see the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock mentioned is when replacing the Multi-Function (Combination) Switch which can be found by clicking here.

But it is the

Brake Transmission Shift Interlock Solenoid that I need to remove

Expert:  Mike S. replied 6 years ago.
Is it on the steering column?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I would assume that it is in there. That is what I am having trouble finding.

I need to find the Brake Transmission Interlock Switch solenoid to replace it. THe truck will not go into gear after being started. We have checked fuses, and that is not the problem. So, I have to replace to BTSI solenoid.

Like I said I have no manual for that, so I found out that on the 2001 Silverado it is under the lower dash.
