I have a 1999 chevy suburban that the security light is stuck on and it will start for a second and shut itself off. I tried turning on the ignition for a while and that didn't help what should iI try next?

did you try another ignition key? can you check for codes?
The ignition has been replaced about 2 years ago and I also tried a different key but no help there
there is a fault with the passlock sensor/wire harness or the bcm. These are hard to diagnose and a scanner is needed. The dealer has the best diagnostic tools and if the bcm or passlock is replaced the vehicle would have to be reprogrammed.
It seems that the rainy humid weather effects this problem could this narrow down the problem, or can the security system be diabled
still the same possible failures. This system cannot be bypassed.
