I need to find out how to change a rear wheel bearing in a 2004 chevy aveo
Hello and welcome to Just, Super mechanic here. About your vehicle.

Most of them were part of the rear drum. However, certain VIN break points the bearing were serviceable. let me give you that.

Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear

The rear wheel bearings are in the brake drum. Replace the wheel bearings and brake drum as an assembly.

Drivetrain - Rear Wheel Bearing Squeak/Squeal

Bulletin No.: 06-03-09-001

Date: February 02, 2006

Rear Wheel Bearing Noise and/or Squeak/Squeal from Rear of Vehicle (Replace Bearing and Seal) Models:
2004-2005 Chevrolet Aveo
2005 Pontiac Wave (Canada Only)

Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 5B426447

Some customers may comment on a noisy rear bearing (one or both) or a squeak/squeal noise in the rear of the vehicle.

DO NOT replace the entire drum, hub, and bearing assembly.

Replace the bearing(s) and seal(s) only, or only the wheel stud, as necessary.
