so you are stuck in neutral. and wont shift into gear? if you try do you hear a grinding?
Expert:  Matt D replied 7 years ago.
The trans fluid would not effect the shifting of a manual transmission unless you ran it with out fluid in it. There is no dip stick on a manual trans. there is a plug on the side you remove the plug and stick your little finger in and tilt down. if you feel fluid you have enough. you fill you put the fluid in the same hole till it comes out. I only hear grinding when I try to put it in reverse. All other gears are fine
Expert:  Matt D replied 7 years ago.
the synchronizers are bad. GM has a problem with them and it's worse if you shift it hard.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Ok one more question. What are synchronizers?
Expert:  Matt D replied 7 years ago.
Synchronizers mesh each gear as you shift do they do not grind. HERE is a pic. there are many parts that make up a synchronizers. Matt
