The diagrams for your truck show no " Timer" system . I take it the interior light is stuck " on " ?

the interior lights will come on by themselves and drain thebattery thought it was the door jamb switchdisconneted itbut still had the same problem thelights in the rearview would normally stay on for 15 seconds after the door closes its a ss model ifthat makes a difference, chiltons wiring diagram shows a timer but not the location.

The auxiliary lighting option shows a " solid state " circuit integral with the " map " light circuit . It is part of the lamp assembly . See the illustration .

So the problem is in the reaview mirror it self makes sense to me

Yes that is shown to have the " timer ".
