1999 Chevy Suburban: local shop..shop says..injector..my vehicle

Resolved Question:

I have a 1999 Chevy Suburban and have been having a hard time starting and I have noticed a whining sound. A local shop says I need a spyder injector and wants $950 to install. Is this a common replacement for my vehicle? Is this a reasonable price?

Hello,

This is a common failure for this vehicle. This type fuel injector unit is known for the sticking of it's "poppets nozzles".The fuel pressure regulator (which is attached to the unit does leak down fuel pressure often. Both of the symptoms will cause your hard start.

The price for replacement is too high. The labor should be no more than 2.5-3.0 hrs & here is the unit from Autozone.
