The starter in my 2004 silverado 5.3 liter..wont start..ve checked

Customer Question

how do i replace the starter in my 2004 silverado 5.3 liter? it won't start and i've checked the battery and it's ok. seems like it's trying to turn every once in a while but just makes a soft clicking sound.

Already Tried:
tried to jump then took battery to get tested and it's ok also tried bangin on starter with hammer with no luck

STARTER MOTOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. . Remove the right transmission cover bolt

    1. Remove the starter bolts.
    2. Disconnect the oil level sensor electrical connector.
    3. Slide the starter forward until the starter clears the transmission

      1. Unsnap the transmission cover from the starter.

      1. If necessary, remove the starter shield.

      INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

      1. If necessary, install the starter shield.

      1. Snap the transmission cover to the starter.

      1. Install the positive cable to the starter stud. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
      2. Install the starter lead nut. Tighten Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in) .

      1. Install the starter solenoid lead (2) to the solenoid stud.
      2. Install the starter solenoid nut (3). Tighten Tighten the nut to 3.4 N.m (30 lb in) .

      1. Snap the transmission cover onto the starter.
      2. Slide the starter rearward.
      3. Install the starter bolts. Tighten Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft) .
      4. Connect the oil level sensor electrical connector.

      1. Install the right transmission cover bolt. Tighten Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in) .
      2. Lower the vehicle.
      3. Connect the negative battery cable
