98 Chevy 2500 P/U Truck 350 Engine,XXXXX Power steering pump has a sensor bottom back side. How do you get it off the old pump. Do I need to just replace this part too?

Already Tried:
Got as far the sensor off. Tryed cresent wrench, worried it may break. The hose connects to the bottom of sensor. I don't have a deep shocket big enought.

Variable Assist Steering Actuator Replacement - Off Vehicle

Disassembly Procedure


    Object Number: 344922  Size: SH

  1. Remove the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the electrical connector from the variable assist steering actuator (1).
  3. Remove pump assembly from the vehicle, if the variable assist steering actuator (1) is not accessible.
  4. Remove the retaining ring (2) from the variable assist steering actuator (1).
  5. Remove the variable assist steering actuator (1).

Assembly Procedure


    Object Number: 344922  Size: SH

  1. Lubricate the new O-ring seal with power steering fluid.
  2. Install the variable assist steering actuator (1) to the pump assembly.

    Tighten
    Tighten the variable assist steering actuator (1) to 62N·m (46 lb ft).

  3. Install the negative (-) battery cable.

    Important: If a new variable assist steering actuator (1) is being installed, position the electrical connector before installing the retaining ring (2).

  4. Install the electrical connector to the variable assist steering actuator (1).
  5. Install the retaining ring (2) to the variable assist steering actuator (1).
