2003 Chevy Tahoe, oil pressure gauge pegged out high,
HelloCustomer is there any noise from the engine? When was the last oil change done?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
no noise, oil changed about one month ago
Okay, and does the gauge move at all? WHat does it do when the vehicle is turned off?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
When vehicle is off gauge is on 0, when key is turned on gauge jumps to max and doesn't move while vehicle is running
Okay. This will either be a problem with the oil pressure sensor, the wiring from the sensor, or the instrument panel. I would start by replacing the sensor on the back of the engine as shown. If the problem persistes then you will need to run some electrical checks.
