Welcome. Do you have a test light to test the small stud on the starter for power with the key in the start position? If there is power the you either have a connection issue from the battery to the starter, a battery issue or a starter. Can you test this and let me know?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Tested. There is power to the starter.
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 7 years ago.

You checked the battery cable as well? If so, then you have a bad starter.

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
sorry. my bad. I checked both cables on the starter. Battery cable is good. The other has no power to it.
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 7 years ago.
And you checked while someone held the key in the start position?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
yes sir. Also, when the key is turned the starter relay in the fuse box doesn't engage.

OK, great. Next is the check engine light on? Does the transmission show neutral? What is the security light doing?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
The check engine light stays on. The transmission indicates Park. The security light goes off.

OK,. Do you ahve mice or rats in your area?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
some.
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 7 years ago.
OK. First try starting it in neutral. Second, take the fender brace off, lift the cover off and then look under the fuse block. They like to nest in there.
