1997 K1500 chev 350 vortec...ignition module..coil

Customer Question

1997 K1500 Chev 350 vortec. Code p1351. Changed ignition module and coil. Still no spark. Code says voltage too high. Where else should I look?

Do you have a Volt Meter and a Test Light?

Below click on the link for the Diag Chart for this code. It will guide you though steps to find the problem.


Most times with this code I find a open or short in the wire harness on top of the engine block.

Dumb question, What is the VCM? It is talking about the possible pin being backed out on C3 Pin 9.

VCM = Vehicle Control Module. See picture for location.


The VCM has 4 Connectors and they are all different colors.

C1 = Blue

C2 = Red

C3 = White or Clear

C4 = Black


I could skip down to the actual testing instead of looking a the possibles.
