How do you replace a water pump on a 2005 Chevy Impala with the 3400 V6 MOTOR?

hi there i have included step by step procedure to replace the water pump. this is a fairly simple job the only odd part is getting the clock position right on the pump. the bolts will only line up one way you so you cant get it wrong thanks for the question. please remember to click accept or i do not get paid

Pump Replacement (3.4L)

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2. Remove the drive belt shield bolt.
  3. Remove the drive belt shield.

  1. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts.
  2. Remove the drive belt.
  3. Remove the water pump pulley bolts.
  4. Remove the water pump pulley.

  1. Remove the water pump bolts.
  2. Remove the water pump (1).
  3. Remove the water pump gasket (2).
  4. Clean the water pump gasket mating surfaces.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the water pump gasket (2).
  2. Install the water pump (1).
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Install the water pump bolts.
    • Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) .

  1. Install the water pump pulley.
  2. Install the water pump pulley bolts.
    • Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 inch lbs.) .
  1. Install the drive belt.
  2. Install the drive belt shield.
  3. Install the drive belt shield bolt.
    • Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) .
  1. Fill the cooling system.
