If your radiator is equipped with a drain, it will be located on the right lower side of the radiator.

and what if there is not a drain, how would you drain the coolant?....without a huge mess

If yours does not have a drain on it, then the next best thing would be to slowly pull off the bottom radiator hose. Start pulling on it until the coolant starts to run out, and hold it there. If you have a front skid plate (plastic or metal) under the radiator, you may want to remove it to allow the coolant to drain straight into whatever pan you have there instead of running all over the place.
