Hello and welcome to Just, Super mechanic here. About your vehicle.

That is a CKP (crankshaft position sensor) performance code. It is most likely the 24X CKP sensor or connection.

Here is a test for it.

DTC P0336 can be caused by secondary components leaking high voltage into the ignition module. Check for the following conditions:

  • Incorrect harness routing near secondary ignition components.
  • Ignition coil arcing to wiring harness or ignition control module (check ignition coils for cracks, carbon tracking, or other signs of damage).
  • Secondary ignition wire(s) arcing to wiring harness.

  • J 24420-B, Harmonic balancer remover.
  • J 29113, Harmonic balancer installer.

  1. Negative battery cable.
  2. Serpentine belts from crankshaft pulley.
  3. Raise vehicle on hoist.
  4. Crankshaft harmonic balancer retaining bolt.
  5. Crankshaft harmonic balancer using J 24420-B.
  6. Note the routing of sensor harness before removal.

  8. Sensor electrical connector.
  9. Sensor bolts (2).
  10. 24X crankshaft position sensor.

  1. 24X crankshaft position sensor with bolts (2) and route harness as noted during removal.
  2. Harness retaining clip with boot (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (8 lb. ft.) .
  3. Sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the balancer on crankshaft using J 29113.
