1996 Suburban 1500: high rpm > 3000..cylinder random misfire..culprit

Customer Question

1996 Suburban 1500 misfires at high rpm > 3000. Error code P0300 multiple cylinder random misfire. Any likely culprit. I've done new spark plugs, MAP sensor, air mass meter, TPS, good / better fuel, BG44K. Can't afford to keep shotgunning parts. Any help would be great!

Welcome. The first thing I would check for this is the fuel pressure. Often a low pressure concern will cause this. HERE is a document the outlines the test and specs.

The pdf attached was the wrong one. Can I test the fuel presure at the schrader valve behind the throttlebody?

Sorry, try THIS ONE.

I tested the fuel system and all was ok there, I ended up finding the problem. It was fixed with when I replaced the cap, rotor, and spark wires.

That's much cheaper than the fuel pump. Glad you found it.
