No, not keyway to keyway. There should be three oval holes and one round hole in the cam gear. The round hole is the alignment mark. It should line up with a small notch in the top of the chain dampner.
the crank gear should have a tiny dimple in it, and it should line up with a small notch in the bottom of the chain dampner.
If you look at the picture below, that puts the cam keyway at about 3 o'clock and the crank keyway at about 10:30 or 11 o'clock
