Hi Shawn 031, if the temperature in your area never goes below 0 degrees F, go with a 10w30 grade oil, if you have temperatures that go below 0F in the winter then I would use a 5w30,and switch to the 10w30 when the weather warms up. Make sure the oil states on the bottle that it meets the GM oil spec.GM6094M, if it states GM4718M, that is fine since it is a new higher spec. If you plan on changing the oil every 3 to 4k miles you are ok with conventional oil, it you plan on longer drain intervals, 5 to 7.5K miles go with a synthetic oil.
