this is a 2002 chevy tahoe 5.3 liter 120000 miles 4x4

the owner of this tahoe has put 500 miles on it since i changed the pump and steering box and the problem still is there not all the time but especialy at low speeds and slow turns

steering gets hard to turn needs two strong hands to try and steer
Does this vehicle have over sized tires or lift kit ?

no this is a stock tahoe
Check the power steering lines for internal separation that will restrict pressure flow.If you suspect this ,replace the hose.If no problem found here you will need a power steering pressure tester.pressure should be around 1500 psi when wheel turned to lock.This problem is usually a spool valve in the gear box ,but can be a low pressure situation.
