2003 Chevy Venture: Van..need to remove the passenger door interior

Resolved Question:

I have a 2003 Chevy Venture Van and need to remove the passenger door interior. I have removed 2 screws. I cannot find the other(s) that are holding the panel on. where are the other screws?

first you will need to remove the power window switches.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 319753  Size: SH

  1. Use the following procedure in order to remove the switch mounting plate:
  2. 1.1. Use a flat-bladed tool at the rear of the switch mounting plate in order to release the clip.
    1.2. Lift up in order to unsnap the mounting plate from the front door trim panel.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  4. Object Number: 319756  Size: SH

  5. Unsnap the switch from the mounting plate.

Then just check if this model has any screws behind the door handle bezel. some models had some retainers behing the plate.

Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to unsnap and remove the door handle cup from the trim panel.

did that - I removed the screw under the arm rest. I removed the window power switches - but there is something else holding the panel on - I believe there are more screws

Then follow these instructions. I can only recall to have two bolts that holds the panel on around the inner door handle. Check under the power window switch, although I don't think there was one in there. Also there are push in type retainers at the middle of the panel as well, not just around the edges and they are hard to release.

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the front door trim plate.
  3. Remove the front door manual window regulator handle if equipped.

  4. Object Number: 319724  Size: SH

  5. Remove the armrest screws.
  6. Route the electrical harness through the front door trim panel opening.
  7. Use trim tool in order to remove the front door trim panel from the door.
  8. Use trim tool in order to pry the front door trim panel from the door frame at the window seal.
  9. Remove the front door trim panel from the door.
