Door Adjustment

Important: Perform this procedure only when bolt-on replacement hinges are installed.

  1. Remove the door striker. Refer to Door Striker Replacement .
  2. Loosen the door hinge to the body side pillar bolts.
  3. Adjust the door at the door hinges in the following directions:
    Upward or downward
    Forward or rearward
    Inward or outward

Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Tighten the hinge bolts.

    Tighten
Tighten the hinge bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  10. Install the door striker. Refer to Door Striker Replacement .
  11. Adjust the door striker, if necessary, in order to properly engage the door latch.
11.1. Loosen the door striker bolts.
    11.2. Adjust the door striker.
