1989 chevy celebrity: with a 2.5 liter V..engine stalls..lurch..hill

Customer Question

I have a 1989 chevy celebrity with a 2.5 liter V-Tech engine. When driving above 35-40 mph the engine stalls out and then immediately starts again causing the car to lurch forward. It only does it when the car is going up a hill, never down or without a load on the engine. I've replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, plugs, wires, ignition module, and had the crank sensor tested. What else is left? I'm running out of ideas. HELP!!!!!

Your problem is consistent enough to be recorded on a scanner during a road test. Have your mechanic do this and the saved data should point to the problem

load related issues are often the MAP sensor, which may be a good direction to check
