2002 chevy tahoe: brake pads..pins..i try to lift the caliper off it

i am trying to replace the brake pads on my 2002 chevy tahoe both front and rear. i have taken the caliper pins out of the calipers but when i try to lift the caliper off it won't come off. its loose but its like something else is preventing it from lifting off

Hi,

 

Here are two easy ways of dealing with that(problem is usually little nubs on the backside of brake pads that are catching the caliper):

 

use a large C-clamp and compress caliper pistons, this will allow them to come off:

use a flathead screwdriver to pry between rotor and brake pad. Place screwdriver thru hole in top of caliper where indicated below:
