I have a 95 trans am..fuel pump light

Hi there, I have a 95 trans am. Think the fuel pump was going out, but went to replace the fuel pump relay first to make sure it wasn't that. I unplugged the old relay, cranked car over (it cranked)...realized i didnt insert the new relay.. so i inserted new relay, went to crank car, and it wouldn't crank at all and security light is on blinking twice a sec maybe.. so i am stuck! how do i get it to at least crank again? that way i can proceed to trouble shoot relay or pump problem.

Wich of theese relates to your vehicle?

Security light

1. flashes for five seconds then goes out
2. Keeps flashing

Check the contacts for the key resistor inside the lock cylinder, are they silver?

check fuses 4&5 for malfunction.

you may need to replace the lock cylinder.

contacts look silver where key connects.. as if the copper has worn off?

the only fuse that looks bad is 'air pump' fuse under the hood.. all others under hood and inside panel of car look good.

maybe it is just my luck, but would trying to crank the car over without fuel pump installed set off security? right after i installed the new one, it would not turn over

disconnect all of the ECM fuses for about thirty minutes and clear the computer. Try again.

under hood fuses:

1. abs bat 2. fog lts 3. r hdlp dr 4. l hdlp dr 5. abs ign 6. fans/actr 7. air pump
8. pcm 9. injector 10. injector 11. ignition 12. a/c cruise

took me awhile to get back. I removed the instructed fuses for 30. then just disconnected the battery from the last post until now. I got a chance to start working on it again. The security light comes on continuously flashing with no change. any more ideas? thanks

Were you able to get your hands on a scanner? If so pulling trouble codes is one of the only ways to get to the source from this distance. Try cycling the key on and off five tomjes within five seconds or less and let the computer relearn the key.
