1999 chevy tahoe 4x4 spongy brakes. will not even get into garage for inspection. bled all 4 and the anti lock system.no difference.
Optional Information: 1999 Chevrolet tahoe lt 5.7 Already Tried: checked brake pads ok bled all 4 wheels. bled abs. no difference. inspection mech. won't go any further with spongy feeling. took out for slam test they worked.there is about 2 to 3 inch play to pedal. while bleeding fluid would back up to the reservoir when pressing brakes.

opened bleeder valve when to engine was off . under computer.
Ok. I regret to tell you that you will need to visit the dealer to bleed the ABS. There is a function of the scan tool that cycles the valves, solenoids and pump in a sequence that releases trapped air. I have watched skilled techs waste several hours trying to bleed these without the scan tool and get no where.
