Where is thermostat for 2003 Cavalier 2.2 , it's hard to find it ! I want to know if overheat cause by thermostat while driving ?

Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement (2.2L - L61)

Removal Procedure

  1. If equipped with an automatic transmission, remove the exhaust manifold.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
    Object Number: 789955  Size: SH

  3. Remove the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe bolts.
    Object Number: 789956  Size: SH

  4. Remove the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe.
    Object Number: 951651  Size: SH

  5. Remove the thermostat.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 951651  Size: SH

  1. Install the thermostat.
    Object Number: 789956  Size: SH

  2. Install the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe. Object Number: 789955  Size: SH

  3. Install the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe bolt.

    Tighten
    Tighten the thermostat housing to water pump feed pipe bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. If equipped with an automatic transmission, install the exhaust manifold.
  5. Fill the cooling system.

Will the engine overheat while driving down the road or only while sitting still?
